Most violinists already are aware of how Hill bows are produced.....
 
The ordinary wood is ebony silver mounted or half-mounted, stamped  "H & S".
 
** Same rules apply to bows produced by ex W.E.Hill and Sons makers who've left the firm.
Our bow is by Brian Alvey, who worked for them from 1966 to 1978.
 
I bought this bow forty years ago, have never sold it.
 
The bow has been played a few times, only in my shop. It's never been sent to a prospective customer.
 
The gold is solid, 14K, looks rather nice with this stick....
